Driving Our Communities in Environmental Efforts

20th Sep, 2024

A green environment is a combined effort of many, and Bottlers Nepal works as a driving force to bring these efforts together. Collaborating with communities and local government representatives, we organize regular plantation drives, where we plant trees and shrubs in various community spaces, contributing to a greener and healthier environment. Alongside this, we conduct community cleaning and awareness campaigns to remove litter and promote cleanliness. These efforts not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of our surroundings but also foster a sense of responsibility and unity among community members.

We initiated support towards Madan Bhandari Park, located at Tinkune, Kathmandu- a park that provides a public space of the community living there. Our support mainly goes towards the upkeep and greenery of the park that the general public can access and enjoy.

We also strive to initiate green practices and behaviors among individuals. Installing waste collection bins in community and government spaces, and tourist spots like Beeshazaari Lake, Budhanilkantha Temple, Bouddha Stupa, and Patan Hospital has helped us drive the clean environment campaigns. We partner with Doko Recyclers throughout the “Refresh and Recycle program” to help create awareness on the importance of segregation of waste and the value of collecting PET to be recycled.

Continuing our initiative to keep Chitwan National Park as the country’s first plastic-free protected area, Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Ltd extended support by providing 25 large PET bottle collection bins to the Chitwan National Park Authority, in close coordination with WWF Nepal. This initiative, started in January 2019 by the Ministry of Forests and Environment, is supported by the Nepali Army, WWF Nepal, the Himalayan Climate Initiative, Coca-Cola in Nepal, the National Trust for Nature Conservation, local buffer zone communities, and tourism entrepreneurs. PET bottles from various locations within the national park are regularly collected through Coca-Cola Nepal’s sustainability initiative, ‘Recycler Saathi,’ which focuses on the ethical and legal recycling of used PET bottles.
