With the aim to address the increased demand of Urban Water, Coca-Cola Beverages Nepal in partnership with Centre for Integrated Urban Development (CIUD) and WaterAid Nepal (WAN) successfully implemented a groundwater recharge system in Balaju Park. The handover ceremony was conducted in the presence and support of the deputy mayor of the KMC, Ms. Sunita Dangol.

The key objective of the project was to maintain the water table of the park area thereby rejuvenating the discharge of the stone spouts, the famous Baish Dhara and the community wells and spring sources. It has been anticipated that this project will not only help in maintaining the groundwater table of the peripheral areas of the project site, but also help increase awareness for such initiatives which are necessary to cope with acute water shortage due to the rapid urbanization and changing climate patterns.
